The GRG170DX, also known as the GRG170D in Japan, is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2004. It has been a part of the entry-level GIO line since the line's introduction in 2004; prior to that it was known as the RG170DX.The GRG170DX features Ibanez pickups, a synchronized tremolo bridge and a rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth inlays. It is produced in both China and Indonesia for different markets around the world and as such the specs vary slightly by market.For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was changed to treated New Zealand pine for those GRG170DX models sold in Asia.A left-handed version, the GRG170DXL, is also offered. The GRG170DXB is a similar model with black hardware. a lot of beginner guitar players face the question: “which guitar is the proper one?”well it has been years that the answer to this question has not been changed. after Ibanez introduced the “GRG-170-DX” in 2004. an electric guitar that could be used in different genres. having a light mahogany body, brings a warm and rich sound with a great deal of comfort. the Ibanez GRG 170 DX has a hard maple neck that regardless of being real thin, has a pretty strong structure too. Ibanez 170 dx lets you play limitlessly with 24frets. the 5-way pickup selector (HSH) gives you the opportunity of experiencing the warm sound of rosewood in different tones. many guitarists started their way with the GIO series and have used them for many years.the quality difference between Ibanez GRG 170 dx and the other guitars with the same price is obvious. for example Fender Squier has the big bug of having 21 frets. you may face this problem after playing electric guitar methods, in most of which the 22, 23 and 24th frets are necessary. specially for playing metal! the single coil pickups on fender Squier have a sharp and slim sound that could be good for blues but is practically useless for high gain sound.
